He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanislaus Pianka and Stella Pianka (Godlewska); and his brother Edward Pianka. He is survived by: his wife Aleksandra Pianka (Krupowies); his son Dr. Joseph D. Pianka (Kelly); his grandchildren, Caitlin Pianka, Ryan Pianka and Emily Pianka; and his siblings, Joseph Pianka and Dorothy Ras.
