He was predeceased by: his wife Eileen Sullivan Carter; and his parents, Elliott Carter and Elitha Carter. He is survived by: his sons, Timothy (Nina) and Abbott of Newport; his girlfriend Linda Carlisle of Newport; his sisters, Mary Ogdon, Pat Giles of Odum, GA and Ahearn; and his grandson Abbott.
