David J. Shaw Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David J. Shaw of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, born in Newport, Rhode Island, who passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, David Shaw Sr. and Barbara Jackson; his friends, Larry Settle, Brian Henry and Tammy Nelson; and his sisters, Donna Jones and Cindy Keith.
He is survived by: his wife Tina; his daughters, Andrea Malo and Kristin Hebert (Vincent) of Portsmouth; his granddaughters, Mia Louise, Ariana Mary, Julia Elizabeth, Irish, Emma Louise and Alena Judith Hebert; his sisters, Kathleen Ferrera (Ken) of Westboro, MA, Laurie Wilkins (James) of Dartmouth, MA and Linda Wilson (Mark) of Charlotte, NC; his adoptive daughter Rebecca Harvey of Little Compton; and also Joseph Malo.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the O'Neill-Hayes Funeral Home (465 Spring St, Newport, RI 02840). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Anthony's Church (2836 E Main Rd, Portsmouth, RI 02871).
In lieu of flowers - memorial donations may be made to Newport Hospital Foundation memo line stating David's name and Vanderbilt Rehab or Strong Little Souls, a childhood cancer foundation in honor of his dear friend Carrigan Nelson.
