Anastasios Kounavis Obituary

We bid farewell to Anastasios Kounavis of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 19, 2024 at the age of 75. Anastasios touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Aristomenis Kounavis and Aggeliki Kounavis (Stathopoulos); and his siblings, Antoni Kounavis, Kostandinos Kounavis, Kyriako Kounavis and Maria Panovrakos.

He is survived by: his children, Athena Kertzman (Rich) and Ari Kounavis (Crissa); his grandchildren, Lucy, Jack Kertzman, Hopson and Greta Kounavis; his siblings, Nick Kounavis of Utah and Eleni Tsakonas of Providence; his niece Angela; his goddaughter Anastasia Vellopoulos; his close friend George Karali; and also, Nick and Argiroula Vellopoulou. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church would be deeply appreciated.
