Alice Veiga Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Alice Veiga of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 9, 2025 at the age of 95. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Alice leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Alice may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joaquina Dias and Benjamin De Pina; her children, Maria "Leonor" Augusta Pires (Fidelio Carvalho), Sergio and Antonio Monteiro; and her sister Lidia "Titiya" Cabral.
She is survived by: her son Eduardo "Nhonho" Veiga. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the St. Peters Catholic Church (311 Bowdoin St, Boston, MA 02122). A Mass was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St Peter's Catholic Church (311 Bowdoin St, Boston, MA 02122). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM at the New Calvary Cemetery (800 Harvard St, Boston, MA 02126). She lived there until early January 2020 when, with the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, she began to exhibit pronounced signs of dementia and relocated to live with her daughter Nana in Pawtucket, RI.
