He was predeceased by: his wife Jacqueline Fickle (Piccolo); his parents, Ivan Fickle and Helen Fickle (Thompson); his daughters, Catherine Fickle and Jo-Ann Hayhurst; and his siblings, Patty O'Connell, Nancy Landanger, Dolly Fickle, James Fickle, Jack Fickle, Charles Fickle, Peggy Fickle and Babe Fickle.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Fickle Jr. and Trish Lovering; his grandchildren, Savannah Lovering and Ashley Hayhurst; and his sister Marcella Wells of Kansas.
