We bid farewell to Richard Van Nieuwenhuize (North Providence, Rhode Island), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 6, 2024 at the age of 79. Richard Van touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Nieuwenhuize and Marie-Jose Van Nieuwenhuize (Schiettecatte); and his brother Albert Van Nieuwenhuize, MD. He is survived by: his wife Carol A. Van Nieuwenhuize (DeLuca); his children, Anne-Marie Van Nieuwenhuize (Carl Africo), Michelle Van Nieuwenhuize, MD (Richard Brederson) and Richard E. Van Nieuwenhuize Jr., MD (Angela Fernandes, RN); and his grandchildren, Ariana, Nicolas, Richard Africo, Pierce Brederson, Alexander, Christopher and Julianna Van Nieuwenhuize. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Rhode Island College.
