He was predeceased by: his wife Arlene A. Chew (Gorman); his parents, Arthur Chew and Helen M. Chew (McLean); and his brother Eric Chew. He is survived by: his children, Raymond A. Chew of Roseville, CA and Linda A. Walters of Old Town, ME; and his grandchildren, Stacey L. Peterson, Kyle A. Walters and Lauren E. Chew. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
