He was predeceased by : his parents, George H. Tate and Lily Tate (Metcalf); and his wife Anita Tate (Lambert). He is survived by : his son John R. Tate, Jr. of Harrisville; his sister Sheila Neill of Pawtucket; his grandchildren, Tiffany A. Torres of New Mexico and Kyle W. Tate of Johnston; his great grandchildren, Brooklyn Torres and Gavin Torres; his nephews, Michael Neill of Florida and Mark Neill of Lincoln; and his stepchildren, Robert Passano, Denise Campopiano, Steven Passano and Michelle Walker.
