He was predeceased by: his son William R. McAreavey; his wife Marguerite; and also Peggy. He is survived by: his parents, William McAreavey and Annie M. McAreavey (Costello); his son Jimmy; his wife Peggy; his children, James J. McAreavey, Jr. and Kathleen A. McAreavey; and his sister Ann M. Jones of Cranston. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
