He was predeceased by: his mother Barbara Velez (Gil). He is survived by: his wife Luz Dary Velez (Jaramillo); his father Hector Velez of Colombia; his children, Jonathan Velez (Fiorella Castillo-Velez), Natalie Velez, Luisa Zapata, Andres Felipe Velez and Sebastian Velez; his brothers, Nelson Velez, Henry Velez and Hernan Velez; and his grandchildren, Adrien Perez, Mateo Velez and Ariana Velez. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
