He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Jean M. Kennedy (Haun); his parents, Thomas J. and Irene Kennedy, Sr. (Bouchard); his children, Bethany J. Winpenny (Robert) of North Kingstown, Susan J. Kennedy-Cascella of Warwick and Kyle J. Kennedy; his grandchildren, Jason Winpenny (Angel), Joshua Winpenny (Lauren), Justin Winpenny, Jared Winpenny, Lindsey Desrochers Courtney Cascella (Justen) and Stephanie Cascella (Dylan); his great grandchildren, Grayson Winpenny, Arden Winpenny, Alania Winpenny, Alara Winpenny, Ryder Derochers and Trent Derochers; and his siblings, Jack Kennedy and Catherine Shepherd.
