He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia A. Bowen (Hulatt); his parents, Rowland P. Bowen and Doris Vanderford (Hynds); his stepfather Carl Vanderford; and his son Rowland F. Bowen.
He is survived by: his children, Patrick D. Bowen (Ruth), William M. Bowen (Jackie), Mary-Beth Elliott (Steven) and Peter E. Bowen. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
