She was predeceased by: her husband Charles S. Carpenter; her parents, Douglas Renfro and Hope Renfro (Gorman); and her siblings, Guy Renfro and Antoinette Dubeau.
She is survived by: her children, Chari M. Carpenter-Corey (Michael) and Charles D. Carpenter (Christine). She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
