He was predeceased by: his wife Irene Towne (Wright); his parents, Ellsworth G. Towne and Minnie E. Towne (Snow); and his siblings, Ellsworth G. Towne Jr., John I. Towne and Elizabeth C. Whitehead.
He is survived by: his daughter Darlene (Peter Legge) of North Kingstown; and his granddaughters, Amy, Eleanor and Angela.
