He is survived by: his wife Margaret (Homer); his children, Therese Marie, William John IV, Terrie Champion-Welford of Newport and Billy Champion of Newport; his grandchildren, Kori Lyman-Champion of Newport, Patrick Welford of Newport, Meaghan McCarthy (Tim) of Newport, Erin Champion and William John Champion; his great grandchildren, Coy Francis Jr, Shea Francis, Phoebe McCarthy and Eleanor McCarthy; and his siblings, Paul Champion of Port St, Donald Champion (Barbara) of Middletown, Nick Champion (Linda) of Baton Rouge, LA., Patricia Moniz of Newport and Sheila Maxwell of Newport.
