She was predeceased by: her parents, Lena Bowley Mello and Joseph Mello; and her son Christopher Costley. She is survived by: her daughter Denise Truver of Tiverton; her siblings, William Mello (England) of London and Joette Winberry of North Carolina; her granddaughters, Aelish Truver of Roanoke, VA and Nicole Ferreira of Wickford, RI.; her cousin Paul Hamill; her goddaughter Linda Pelkey; her friend Dennis Brumley; her close friends, Happy, Priscilla, Marion, Joan and Nettie; and her caregivers, Stephanie, Sandy, April, Ruth, Christine, Michelle and Maureen.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the O'Neill-Hayes Funeral Home (465 Spring St, Newport, RI 02840). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (12 William St, Newport, RI 02840).
