She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Heffernan and Elizabeth Heffernan (Conroy); her husband Thomas J. Murphy; her sons, Thomas J. Murphy Jr. and William C. Murphy; and her siblings, Paul, Philip Heffernan and Mary Works.
She is survived by: her children, Rene Smerling (Robert) of Sacramento, CA, Marielen Murphy, Elizabeth Murphy Casey and Tod Murphy (MaryBeth) of Newport; her grandchildren, Taylor Hill-Tout, Breck Marsh, Kelly Smerling Warren, Sarah Smerling, Tyler Thomas Murphy, Elizabeth, Bridget, Anna Murphy and Caraline Murphy Casey; and her great grandchildren, Esme Marsh and Dylan Hill-Tout.
