He is survived by: his mother Margaret "Peggy" O'Brien; his wife Sharon O'Brien; his son Chad James O'Brien of Freehold, NJ.; his siblings, Jane (Steve Perry) of Newport, James (Lisa O'Brien) of Middletown, John (Karen O'Brien) of Charleston, SC, Juliann Bestoso of Newport and Brigid O'Brien of Newport; and his brothers-in-law, Thomas (Karyn Franks) of Middletown and Billy Sears of Middletown. He is also survived by his three nieces and nine nephews.
