He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph F. Strain and Julia Collins Strain; and his wife Marguerite Slattery Strain. He is survived by: his brother Joseph R. Strain (Lorraine) of Springfield; and his granddaughters, Stephanie Merrick (Christopher), Rachel Smith, Julia Kent and Grace Gutschmidt (Aaron). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
