He was predeceased by: his father John O'Brien. He is survived by: his wife Jane O'Brien (Rush); his children, Douglas K. O'Brien, Det, Christine M. Phelan (Todd), Kevin J. O'Brien (Donna) and Patrick W. O'Brien; his sister Carole A. O'Brien-White; and his grandchildren, Sean V. O'Brien, Megan L. O'Brien, Shannon M. O'Brien, Caitlyn J. O'Brien and Nathan Rzemien.
