He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Edward Peterson and Kathleen Delozier Peterson; his significant other Joya Maxwell; his daughter Kimberly Peterson Beauchamp (Michael); his granddaughters, Lily Anya and Scarlett Aurora; his sister Deborah Peterson Phillips; his nephew James Lee Phillips (Heather); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Brendyn and Keyleigh; his brother George James Peterson; his brother-in-law George Jay Coffey Jr. (Linda); his nephews, Gregory (Rhonda) and Clifford (Melia); his sister-in-law Anita Coffey (Philip Shuler); his nephews, Benjamin and Austin; his sister-in-law Gailjean Coffey Gallon; his nieces and nephews, Meaghan, Skipper, Tobias and Myles; his great-niece Kira Leigh Brown-Augdal; and his niece Jennifer Brown (Trond Augdal).
He had lived with Parkinson's disease for almost 22 years.
