He was predeceased by: his parents, Catherine E. (Hegarty) and Samuel J. Shoppell, Jr.; his sister Carol Anne; and his pets, Dylan, Buddy, Peanut and Bentley.
He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Shoppell of Middletown, RI and Shane Shoppell (Lauren) of Narragansett, RI.; his grandson Easton Shoppell; his siblings, Sam, Stephen, San, Scott, Sharon, Stuart and Stacie; his former wife Ann Shoppell; his mother-in-law Marian Sullivan; and his pet Rebel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as two great-nieces.
