It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Erik Nelson of Middletown, Rhode Island, born in Newport, Rhode Island, who passed away on August 18, 2022, at the age of 56, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his nephew Chris "Sean" Williams. He is survived by: his parents, John W. Nelson, III and Elizabeth "Betty Anne" Nelson (Collins); his siblings, Karl W. Nelson and Beth A. Nelson (Riko Simpson) of Providence; his brother-in-law Joseph Perryman of Providence, RI; his nephew Darren Weldon; and his nieces, Teaonna D. Simpson and Deaonna B. Womak.
