He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Stanley and Alma Stanley (Reddington). He is survived by: his wife Dorothy I. Stanley (Waskiel); his daughters, Donna A. Walker (Ronald) of Lincoln and Diane Bzowski (Carl) of North Carolina; his siblings, Wayne Stanley of Charlestown and Patricia Lilly of Warwick; and his grandchildren, Chelsea and Brandon Walker.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association Rhode Island Chapter, 245 Waterman St #306, Providence, RI 02906.

“I was very saddened to hear of the passing of my friend, dick stanley. We first met in the mid-1990’s when dick was a driver. Over our many-twice weekly for many years, drives to logan &greene airport, he and shared many long talks and were so close to solving many of the world’s problems! We kept in contact thereafter. He was truly the salt of the earth. I’m sure he is missed. I deeply regret that i did not discover his passing until now and was unable to pay my respects. John thompson”
