He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer M. Weiss and Edna Mae Weiss (Humphries); his children, John A. Weiss Jr. and Marilyn Pitts; and his siblings, Ernest, Robert, Malcolm, James Weiss, Doris Hookey and Edna Forte.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah E. Weiss (Fox); and his children, Marsha Weiss (Robert Newton) and David Weiss (Manon). He is also survived by four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
