She is survived by: her spouse Mark W. Koons; her child Ryan D. Koons; her parents, Marilyn F. Douglas (Dailey) and Stuart Douglas, Jr.; her wife Robert S. of Richmond, RI; her father-in-law Ernest K. Koons of Florida; her siblings-in-law, Sharon Fisher (Koons) of Indiana, Barbara Koons-Witt (Ron) of South Carolina and Robert Koons; and also, Jamie V. Douglas (LaMountain) of Richmond, RI, Matthew of Richmond, RI, Connor of Richmond, RI, Ashley of Indiana, Andrew Witt of South Carolina and Laura Witt of South Carolina.
Sue was the recipient of a kidney donation in 1983 from another family's tragic loss in Alabama, and that kidney miraculously sustained her for 35 years, providing inspiration for her career of helping others and the formation of her family.
