He was predeceased by: his parent Adolphe Mercier; and his sibling Ernest Mercier. He is survived by: his spouse Claire E. Mercier (Lowell); his parent Ida Mercier (Theroux); his children, Patricia Mercier Williams (Allen) of Cumberland and Richard Mercier; and also, Santa and Claus.
