He is survived by: his mother Joyce McCarthy (Turner); his stepfather Charles McCarthy; his father Robert Genest (Michelle Genest); his brothers, Gary Genest (Sheryl) and Bryan Genest; his nephews, Brandon, Adam and Jeffrey; his niece Audrey Genest; and also Sherry L. Genest.
