He was predeceased by: his parents, David M. Briggs and Ella Briggs (Drew); and his daughter Bethany L. Briggs. He is survived by: his wife Judith Briggs (Finan); his children, Christine and Greg Kahrhoff; and his grandchildren, Andrew Briggs Kahrhoff and Kathryn Judith Kahrhoff.
