He was predeceased by: his wife Maria L. Amaral (Medeiros); his parents, Joaquim Amaral and Maria Amaral (Medeiros); and his sibling Idalina Amaral. He is survived by: his children, Victor Amaral, John Amaral (Maryann), Filomena Cole (Mark), Maria Matos (Germano), Susana Barbosa (Carlos), Luis Amaral (Grace), Joseph Amaral (Steven), Paul Amaral (Martha) and Weber Amaral; and his siblings, Maria Rosa Oliveira, Zenaida Cabral, Louis Amaral, Gilda Sousa, Gilberto Amaral and Joseph Amaral. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
