It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Valentina C. Sousa of East Providence, Rhode Island, who passed away on March 25, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Francisco S. Sousa; her parents, Manuel Soares and Almerinda Soares (Borges); and her brother Manuel Soares. She is survived by: her daughters, Gilda Avila of East Providence, Almerinda Sousa of Ponta Delgada and Azores; her grandchildren, Patricia Conceição (Kevin) of East Providence and Christopher Avila of New York; and her great grandchildren, Tatyana, Jonathan and Gabryella.
