He was predeceased by: his parents, Salvatore V. Gianola and Gloria P. Gianola (Padovano). He is survived by: his son Andrew T. Gianola; his sisters, Joan G. Mekrut (William A. Mekrut) and Barbara A. Gianola (Stephen A. Grossi); his nephew William P. Mekrut; his niece Samantha R. Mekrut, MD (Petar Kecman); and also Meghan. He is also survived by seven great nieces and nephews.
