It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Matthew A. Lopes Sr. (East Providence, Rhode Island), born in Warwick, Rhode Island, who passed away on January 26, 2019, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lopes and Antonia Lopes (Rocha); and his siblings, John, Manuel, Joseph, Benjamin, Antonio, Alexander Lopes and Anna Lopez.
He is survived by: his spouse Laura Lopes (Barros); his children, Phyllis C. Conway (Michael), Philip C. Hazard (Julie), Matthew A. Lopes, Jr., Carol A. Gibson (Peyton) and Laurie J. Lopes; and his brother Domingos Lopes.
