He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Moitoso and Emelia F. Moitoso (Silveira); his son Luis Moitoso; and his siblings, José Moitoso, Maria Moitoso, Augusto Moitoso, Antonio Moitoso, Emilia Moitoso, Angelina and Terra.
He is survived by: his wife Maria M. Moitoso (Silveira); his children, Maria Soifert (Ronald), Gilberta McLaughlin (Keith), Jorge Moitoso, João Moitoso (Sandra) and Tommy Moitoso (Megan); his grandchildren, Shane, Jacob, Jordan Soifert, Taylor, Johnna Moitoso, Chase, Corey, Chandler McLaughlin, Austin Breese, Emelia and Molly Moitoso; his child Idalina Moitoso (Glenn); and his sister Maria Amelia (Azores) of Faial. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was a communicant of Saint Francis Xavier Church and a member of the Holy Ghost Brotherhood of Charity of East Providence.
