He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Bernardo (Da Luz); his parents, Theodore and Maria (Terceira) of Estrela; and his brother Gabriel Bernardo. He is survived by: his siblings, Armando Bernardo, Anastasio Bernardo, Moses Estrela, Zelia Carreiro and Jose Rebello. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
