She was predeceased by: her husband Manuel M. Sousa; her parents, Jose F. Vargas and Rosa G. Vargas (Luz); and her siblings, Rosa, Maria, Manuel, Carlos Faria, Jose, Daniel and Francisco Vargas.
She is survived by: her children, Dimantina Escobar, Maria Pires, Anna Fialho, Manuel Sousa, Jose Sousa and Rui Sousa; and her sisters, Leonora Abreu, Ana Escobar and Fernanda Campos. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
