He was predeceased by: his parents, Diniz R. Tavares and Maria A. Tavares (Amaral). He is survived by: his sister Olga Tavares Dias; his godson Denis M. Dias; his aunt Jovina Botelho; and his extended family, Mario and Cidalia Galvao. He is also survived by numerous cousins and two close friends.
