He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Silva and Georgina Silva (Oliver); and his siblings, Thomas Silva and William Silva. He is survived by: his wife Barbara M. Silva (Cooney); his children, Joy Silva, William Silva, David Silva, Dawn Medeiros, Stephen Silva and Holly Cottrell; and his siblings, Claudette Moniz, Gerald Silva, Ronald Silva and James Silva. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
