He was predeceased by: his wife Louise S. Paine (Tessaglia); his parents, George Paine and Mary Paine (Carlin); and his brother George A. Paine, Jr.. He is survived by: his sons, David R. Paine, Jr. (Claudette) of Rehoboth, Geoffrey A. Paine (Shelly) of Cranston and Scott C. Paine of San Diego; his grandsons, David R. Paine III (Sarah) and Christopher A. Paine (Carolyn); his great grandchildren, Henry R. Paine, Emily E. Paine and Eleanor F. Paine; and his sister Nancy Paine-Borden of Warwick. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
