She was predeceased by: her parents, Manuel DaCosta and Senhorinha DeSousa Tavares (Farias); her son Arnold Mello Jr.; and her siblings, Georgina DePonte, Luis Tavares, Mary Farias, Silvino Tavares, Jose Tavares and Adelaide Lisbour.
She is survived by: her sister Senhorina Soares of Providence. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
