He was predeceased by: his parents, Timothy John Gillis and Gladys Gillis (Chark); and his brothers, Timothy John Gillis, Jr., William E. Gillis (late Claire) and James A. Gillis (late Kathy).
He is survived by: his wife Eileen Gillis; his sibling Marion Parker (late Richard); his children, Joseph M. Gillis, Jr. (Linda) of Bridgewater, MA and Julie Gillis Butziger of Warwick, RI; his stepsons, David Zweig (Meryl) of Randolph, NJ and Steven Zweig (Debbie) of Wharton, NJ.; and his great grandchild Julian. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
