He was predeceased by: his parents, Fiorangelo Pontarelli and Enrichetta Pontarelli (Zarlenga); his wife Anne M. Pontarelli (DeMarco); and his siblings, Vincent, Nicholas, Raymond Pontarelli, Irma Redman and Adelaide Marseglia.
He is survived by: his children, Paul Pontarelli (Mary Ann) of East Greenwich, Lisa Pontarelli (David Paolino) of Warwick, James Pontarelli (Patricia) of Narragansett, David Pontarelli (Sally) of Culpeper, Virginia and Mark Pontarelli (Kirsten) of Lake Oswego, Oregon.; and his grandchildren, Sarah Pontarelli (Evan Katz) of Jamestown, Will Pontarelli (Maddi Gervasio) of Astoria, Camille Pontarelli of Burlington, Vermont, Isaac Pontarelli of Nashua and Damon Pontarelli of Lake Oswego, Oregon..
