He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Conrad Hamel and Lucille Hamel (Peloquin); his children, Kyra Hamel of Denver and Luke Hamel of Cumberland; and his siblings, Karen Donnelly (Robert), Jeffrey (Cheryl) and Jaime Hamel (Nancy Hamel).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Troop 1 Arnold Mills Boy Scouts at 690 Nate Whipple Hwy, Cumberland, RI 02864.
