He was predeceased by: his wife Caroline Egerton (Duckworth); his parents, Albert Egerton and Charlotte Egerton (Tucker); his son Dwight L. Egerton; his grandson Patrick Egerton; and his brother Albert Egerton.
He is survived by: his children, Sarah Mittleman (Steven) of Framingham, Amy Dark (Irving) of Lincoln, Robert E. Egerton, Jr. (Angela) of Edgartown, John Egerton (Karen) of North Smithfield and William Egerton (David Thorpe) of Houston, Texas; and his siblings, Janice Martel of Cumberland, Richard "Skip" Egerton of Wakefield, William Egerton and Phyllis Schofield. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
