She was predeceased by: her father Lionel Barros. She is survived by: her husband Robert D. Rao; her mother Betty Barros (Freeman) of Mooresville, NC; her children, Jeremy Daugherty of Bruceton, TN and Rebecca Rao (Darin Tripoli) of Chepachet, RI; and her siblings, Michael Barros (Paula), Deanna Bradshaw, Laura Machowski (Leo), Brenda Fournier (Ronald) and Linda Medeiros. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
