João Afonso Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of João Afonso of Cumberland, Rhode Island, who passed away on July 23, 2021 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Gloria Afonso; his parents, Domingos Marques and Maria Afonso; and his sister Precina Alves. He is survived by: his sons, Antonio Afonso (Maria Rosa) of Cumberland and José Manuel Afonso of Connecticut; his grandsons, Tony and Jorge Afonso; his granddaughters-in-law, Michelle and Nancy; his great grandchildren, Ashton and Eliana Afonso; and his brothers, Antonio, Daniel Santos of Cumberland, Armando, Albino and Abilio Santos of Portugal. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Our Lady of Fátima Church.
