Gevriye Kucukkaya Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gevriye Kucukkaya of Cumberland, Rhode Island, who passed away on February 1, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Mikael Kucukkaya and Ziyane Kucukkaya (Hincir); and his siblings, Sariye Hanna, Sede Halef and Shibo Kucukkaya.
He is survived by: his spouse Menise Kucukkaya (Hadodo); his children, Filiz Halef of Florida, Fidan Halef of Nova Scotia, Figen Mirza of New Jersey, Zumrut Tayeh of Lincoln, Mikael Kucukkaya of Cumberland, Zekayi Kucukkaya of Cumberland and John Kucukkaya of New Jersey; and his brother Yosef Kucukkaya of Sweden. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Saint Ephraim Syriac Orthodox Church (215 Washington St, Central Falls, RI 02863). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at the Laurel Grove Cemetery (295 Totowa Rd, Totowa, NJ 07512).
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to Saint Ephraim Syriac Orthodox Church, 215 Washington Street, Central Falls, RI 02863 would be appreciated.
