He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dougherty and Isabelle Dougherty (Tierney); his daughter Bethany Dougherty; and his brother William. He is survived by: his wife Catherine Dougherty (Breslin); his children, Frank Dougherty (Lori) of Greenville, Pete Dougherty (Joan) of Tennessee, Cate Dougherty of Cumberland, Mary Dougherty (Edward Caouette) of Chepachet, Sandy Dougherty of Carlisle, PA. and Paul Dougherty (Linda Sullivan) of Boston, MA.; and his siblings, John "Dip", Michael "Joe" Dougherty, Margaret White, Joyce Jensen, Mary McVeigh and Isabelle Redman. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
