He was predeceased by: his wife Lucille M. Sylvia (Wilson); and his parents, Dorothy Woodward and Jack Sylvia. He is survived by: his siblings, Lillian Wyman, Toby Gray, Honora Shaw (Mickey), Arlene Walker (Porgie) and Rexford Sylvia (Johnboy); his children, Douglas R. Sylvia Jr. of Providence, David M. Sylvia of Providence, Daniel E. Sylvia of Providence, Susan Sylvia of Providence and Laurie Sylvia Braxton of Connecticut; and his grandchildren, Christine, Lorindan, Philisha, Alexandria and DeAnthony Sylvia.
A memorial will be announced at a later date due to concerns of COVID.
